If I could only put the smell of these aeroponic strawberries into words. Not to mention the fact that they are really, really, ridiculously good looking. I can’t wait to eat them.

Examination of Strawberry Root Structures at 3rd Feeding

As you can see, a few of these plant root systems do not seem to be growing. :(

Rinse Then Feed

Quite the runner:

With the good sometimes comes the bad. Unfortunately our inner right plant seems to be in pretty poor shape. I will remove the dead leaves with a pair scissors according to the directions in the AeroGarden Strawberry Patch manual.

Check out this bird’s eye view photo of the AeroGarden’s growing surface after being removed from the bowl during the rinsing procedure. You can easily see how much better the left side is doing compared to the light-deprived right:

Left Thrives, Right Dives

The right side is still not looking all that great… it is very unfortunate that we had to go without the intended bulb for so long.

Looking at both sides in the same frame, we see reduced growth on the right side.

Despite our setback on the right side of the AeroGarden, we still have our thriving left side plants whose production rates seem to have increased over the past few days.

B-B-B-BERRIES!

Talk about progress! Our little strawberry plants are beginning production of our first AeroGarden Strawberries.

Unfortunately… the right side lightbulb has not arrived from AeroGrow. When I spoke with the AeroGrow representative 12 days ago, she assured me she would send it the next day. From past experience with USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL… I seriously doubt they sent it out on the 15th.

Our first berry is getting a little flushed!

It is too bad the strawberry plants on the right are not growing as tall as the left side. The lights still have not arrived from AeroGrow, but I can’t imagine them showing up any later than tomorrow assuming they really did ship them out on the 15th.

Berries Keep Growing

Our green berries seem to be swelling! In a very similar manner to the initial flower blooms, the number of strawberries growing in our AeroGarden has rapidly increased. Check out some photos from today:

We’ve got another strawberry just starting out in a separate seed pod. I did not notice this one yesterday, so the nutrients must have helped!

Since the growing surface was out of the bowl during the water exchange and feeding, I took more root system photos of our aeroponic strawberries. You can compare the photos with our examination at week two to see how the roots have expanded over the last two weeks.
