AeroGarden Light Bulb Goes Out!

AeroGarden Strawberries - AeroGarden Lightbulb Goes Out

Well… crap.  I came home today to find that the right side light bulb has gone out.  Funny part is, this bulb was ~27 days young.  I looked over the limited warranty information and it looks like the bulbs are covered by a 6 month warranty from the date of the original purchase.  Looking back at my receipt, I placed my order on 1/29/2007 so I should be covered.  I will give AeroGrow a call tomorrow at 1-800-GROW-NOW and see if they can get another bulb out to me.  I hope the lack of light will not impede our strawberry plant growth.

  1. Sorry to hear about that, I had the same problem with my italian herb kit I was moving it and the bulb popped out and shattered unfortunately drops were not covered but you should get it fixed ASAP as my plants suffered deeply if you cant do it fast at least try to put a lamp or something else over it

  2. They should replace it. Hopefully your plants will survive the time it will take, which may be a while. If not, they are responsible for those plants also. I can already tell you what they will say to do while waiting. Alternate the light that is working from side to side. Switch it midday, so each side will get an even amount of light. That is what they told a friend of mine with a different kit. I bought a backup set of lights just in case this should ever happen. I have two aero gardens, one with tomato’s and this new one with the strawberries. I think some flowers are just starting to come up on mine, but not enough leaf sets yet. Too early to tell though, maybe it is just more leaves, but it does look different. My berries have just been home for 13 days.

  3. Ohhh, just thought I should add. Make sure you tell them about your website. This website helps get people interested in their product. But a busted light makes them look bad. They may get it out to you much faster that way! Even though I have two, and haven’t had to call for service yet, I’m very curious to see how long it takes for you to get your replacement. My first garden is right around 5 months old. I’ve had no problems with lights or anything.

  4. […] under AeroGrow’s warranty to replace my defective right-side bulb that went out back on March 12th.  Since only one of the bulbs went out, I now have a backup in case of a second failure.  […]
